Registration Paperwork & Waivers Required
Because JJ’s Jam is a fully licensed and regulated program by the MN Department of Human Services, all children enrolled are required to have current paperwork per the guidelines of MN DHS Rule 3 for Child Care Centers. Children who have attended JJ’s Jam Summer Camp in the past will be required to update select forms as applicable to bring their file current.
All currently enrolled Jack and Jill Pre Kindergarten Children and all newly enrolled children will be required to complete a full set of enrollment paperwork to participate in JJ’s Jam Summer Camp.
All enrolled children must have current paperwork completed and on file no less than five business days before their first day of JJ’s Jam Summer Camp or enrollment will be canceled and deposits will be retained.
Additional waivers may be required for some field trips. These waivers will be sent out to families after registration.
Field Trip Program Cancellation or Change
Field trips are subject to MDH Guidelines. Thus, an additional weekly field trip fee will be billed if field trips are able to occur that week. Parents will be notified of the status of field trips in advance. Field trips may be altered or re-routed due to inclement weather or facility and/or vendor change. JJ’s Jam will do its best to reset the planned event within the camp week. No refund is given for a reset or canceled field trip.
More things to know…
-
Sign In & Out Daily
Curbside drop-off & pick-up will likely continue into summer. Children will need to be dropped off and checked for symptoms outside the center to continue mitigation strategies. An alternate authorized pick-up form must be presented in advance and the alternate adult pick-up must show photo ID.
-
Transportation
For local field trips, we will walk, hike, and take the mini JJ’s Jam buses. Bussing will be contracted with Voigt Bus Company and bussing will be done at a 50% reduced capacity.
-
Sunscreen & Staying Hydrated
We are outside daily in the summer and most of our activities and field trips take place outside. Your child must have his or her own non-spray sunscreen to apply throughout the day. We ask that all kids pre-apply morning sunscreen before attending the program and have adequate sunscreen to apply throughout the day. Daily water bottles are a necessity and need to be stored in the child’s locker daily for licensing purposes. Both items should be labeled with the child’s first name and first initial of the last name.
-
T-Shirts, Backpack & Water Bottle
Each child will receive a JJ’s Jam t-shirt, backpack and water bottle for their personal use. We ask that backpacks be used daily to carry their water bottle, sunscreen, swim gear, etc. JJ’s Jam will provide colored T-Shirts for the kids to wear off-site for all field trips and will be laundered on-site.
-
Safety & Behavior
Staff work together with your child to keep a safe and fun program for all. Your child will be expected to follow rules of safety and respect. Parents need to be familiar with the behavior guidelines in the Parent Handbook. In the event behaviors or incidents rise to a consistent, or inappropriate level, it may be cause for removal of the day’s events and program. As our safety, health, and mitigation strategies continue to change, we will send out updated COVID guidelines and rules prior to the start of summer.
-
Allergies, Medications & Illnesses
Parents need to be familiar with allergy, medication, and illness guidelines in the Parent Handbook. If your child has any allergies, seizures, asthma, medical conditions, or has medication that may need to be administered at the program, additional forms from your pediatrician may be required. If required, these must be reviewed by administration a minimum of two weeks before your child’s start date. Please contact info@jjsjam.com if your child has any of the above listed circumstances.
