June 3rd & 4th:
No more homework! We’re ready to party!
Fun filled days of getting ready for summer. Our youngest school agers learn what summer camp is all about as they practice bus and field trip safety!
June 5th & 6th:
Lilly Pad Ceramics
We’ll head on our first field trip to Lilly Pad Ceramics. Each of the children will make their own pottery creation to start out the summer.
June 7th:
Our first “Friday Frenzy”
We kick off Friday Frenzies where we keep our bodies and brains moving all day long. First a trip to the local library and then a day of fun at the park!
Weeks 2 & 3: FOSS SWIM SCHOOL OF BLAINE
for campers entering Kindergarten through 6th Grades

For the fourth year, JJ’s Jam is partnering with Foss Swim School to provide swimming lessons during the day. All transportation fees are included and your child will receive high quality fun lessons that will help keep them safe in the water this summer! Lessons are Monday through Thursday afternoons for the first two full weeks of summer!
“Over the two weeks, the children will participate in 30 minute leveled swimming lessons each day, Mon-Thurs. The JJ’s Jam staff will be with your children every step of the way as we work with the swimming instructors to encourage success and comfort in the water!”
***Please note that there is a non-refundable swimming registration fee of $96 that must be paid in full at the time of registration to reserve your child’s place in with the Foss Swim School. This fee is equal to 8 lessons at $12 per lesson and is in addition to the weekly camp cost.
Week 2: June 10-14 Swim Into Summer with Foss Swim School
Monday June 10 -Thursday: June 13 FOSS Swim School of Blaine: 30 minute swimming lessons 12:30-2:30
Friday June 14: Tropic’s Indoor Water Park & Tropical Adventure Play Ground
Crawl through the caves and swing through the jungle in the indoor play area. We’ll head to the water park as the kids conquer the water slides and have fun under the squirting palm tree.
***All swimming facilities visited by JJ’s Jam are maintained and supervised by trained lifeguards at the swimming facilities. Teacher to child ratios are kept at 1:7 or 1:5 for safety in the water.
Week 3: June 17-21 Swim the Day Away as FOSS Swim School Continues
Monday June 17 -Thursday June 20: FOSS Swim School of Blaine: 30 minute swimming lessons 12:30-2:30
Friday June 21: Elm Creek Park Reserve
Elm Creek Park Reserve is a great spot for a hot summer day! We will explore the “Big Woods” themed outdoor adventure park before a picnic lunch. Next we’ll cool down at the swimming hole, a refreshing manmade lake just a short walk away!
Weeks 2 & 3: BEYOND THE POOL
For campers entering 4th, 5th, and 6th Grades
“This special program is for children entering 4th 5th and 6th grades that have already proceeded through at least 3 years of private swimming lessons. Children who are beyond this three year milestone and are confident swimmers may opt to join us for two weeks beyond the pool. These weeks include full days at JJ’s Jam as well as enrollment and transportation to new half day camps in the metro area. Weeks are based on a minimum enrollment and are subject to additional fees to be set based on interest.”
Week 2: June 10-14, 2013 Beyond the Pool with the Northern Breezes Sailing School
We are off to Medicine Lake for day beginning sailing lessons taught by certified camp instructors. Lessons will take place daily from 9:00am-12:00pm Monday through Friday. Transportation to and from sessions with meals and before and after care are provided by JJ’s Jam staff members each day.
Week 3: June 17-21, 2013 Beyond the Pool at The Wargo Nature Center
This week is about all different types of boats on the water. Experience a variety of watercrafts including kayaks, paddle sports, and canoes. We’ll also learn a bit about fishing on our own Minnesota lakes. Transportation to and from sessions with meals and before and after care are provided by JJ’s Jam staff members each day.
Week 4: June 24- June 28 JJ’s SURVIVAL
What would you do if you had to make it on your own? Can you survive a week of JJ’s Jam?
Tuesday, June 25: Wargo Nature Center
We have a day of adventure ahead of us. Today we’ll take to the lake as we learn how to catch our own food.
Wednesday, June 26: Camp St Croix
How do you build a shelter? What foods are okay to eat in the wild? What can I use to start a fire? You’ll find out at our outdoor survival class!
Thursday, June 27: Basecamp at Fort Snelling
Base Camp is Minnesota’s newest field trip destination! Be prepared for rock climbing, ropes courses, archery, team building, and more!
Week 5: July 1-5 PARTY IN THE USA
Register by the day to fit your family’s schedule for this patriotic filled week.
Monday, July 1: Rock the House with QC DANCE
Get ready to party with a visit from QC DANCE SCHOOL. We’ll learn some crazy hip-hop moves for you to take on your long weekend. (On Site Theme Day)
Tuesday, July 2: Ax Man Surplus Stores
It’s amazing what you can make out of old toys and junk. Today’s field trip will take you to one of the best hidden secrets around: Ax Man Surplus Store. Here you’ll have enough money to spend on unique “junk” to turn into a masterpiece.
Wednesday, July 3: Exploding Science
Who needs fireworks when you can make your own “explosive” creations with items right from the kitchen! (On Site Theme Day)
July 4thth: Center Closed Happy Independence Day!
July 5thth: On Site Theme Day

Week 6: July 8-12 HEATING UP THE KITCHEN
Monday, July 8: Whole Foods Market
Healthy snacks are on the menu for today. Learn how to make afterschool snacks that will keep your body well fed and energized.
Tuesday July 9: Minneapolis Farmer’s Market
The farmers market is a great place to find fresh local food for cooking. You’ll have your own budget to spend on fruits and vegetables and then head back to the JJ’s Jam kitchen to make your own lunch!
Thursday, July 11: A Tour of Asia
What is your favorite Asian food? We’ll visit a local Asian restaurant and learn about rice, noodles, stir-fry and more! What restaurant do you ask? It is a surprise!
Week 7: July 15-19 READY SET SLIDE!
Grab your towel and swimming suit for a week in the water. Don’t forget your sunscreen!
Tuesday, July 16: Cascade Bay Water Park
This place has something for everyone! The little swimmers will play at the shipwrecked cove and enjoy the larger than life sandbox. Experienced swimmer will enjoy the lazy river and windy water slides.
Wednesday, July 17: Bunker Beach
Bunker Beach is one of the best places in town with 6 towering water slides, a 900 foot lazy river and the state’s largest wave pool. They also have a great place for our little swimmers with zero depth water slides and more!
Thursday, July 18: Edina Aquatic Center
Ride down the twisting water flume, fly through the water on the high flying cable, experience the wild tree house and monkey around in the zero depth pirate ship. This place is perfect for all of our swimmers no matter what their age!
Week 8: July 22-26 THE AMAZING RACE
Grab your backpack because we’re touring the coolest places around town!
Tuesday, July 23: Historic Cave Tours
Did you know that there are caves almost in your backyard! We’ll head to St Paul for a historic cave tour. Our younger campers will learn about how the caves were made while our older campers will learn about who used these caves way back when.
Wednesday, July 24: Twins Stadium Tour
Walk through the Twins dugout, run the bases, and take pictures in the press box. See all of the secret places at Target Field!
Thursday, July 25: Minnesota Zoo
See animals from Minnesota and from around the world. We’ll do our own tour and then see the zoo from up above as we take a ride on the monorail with a naturalist to answer all of your questions.
Week 9: July 29 – August 2 GAME ON!
Tuesday, July 30: Games 2 U Onsite Party
This is a day of giant hamster ball races, laser tag, and even booger wars! Games 2 U will join us here at JJ’s Jam for a party like you’ve never seen before!
Wednesday, July 31: Saint Paul Saints Game
MN Saints games are all about fun. Help us cheer on our home town team as they take on their opponent. Do you know all of the words to “Take Me Out to the Ballgame?”
Thursday, August 1: Hyland Park Reserve
At Hyland Park you can climb to the sky. With chutes and ladders taking you out of this world this is a great way to spend a summer day.
Week 10: August 5-9 CREATIVITY BOOT CAMP
Being creative doesn’t stop at using a paintbrush. Experience the many realms of art and creativity!
Tuesday, August 6 Meat and Cheese Comedy Show
“Learn about the art of improv with a visit from the comedians of the Meat and Cheese Comedy crew.
Throw in a little silly string, and performers that are not afraid to embarrass themselves and you’ve got a
show filled with laughter and fun!”
Wednesday, August 7: Circus Juventas
Join us for the most spectacular show of the summer. At Circus Juventas you’ll see kids your own age fly through the air, jump through hopes, and move in crazy ways!
Thursday, August 8: MN Center for Book Arts
What type of book will you create today? Younger campers will make their own paper and pop-up books. Our older campers will make a petal fold book and even use the printing press to make their own poster!
Week 11: August 12-16 LEGO ROBOTICS with Youth Enrichment League
Monday-Thursday: LEGO Robotics
This week our schedule looks a little bit different. Each day, Mon-Thurs LEGO instructors will join us for a 3 hour on site class on LEGO robotics. You’ll build your own creation and learn how to make it come to life. Our day will also include some body robotics as we head to the local park to get out our energy. (Classes on site)
Week 12: August 19-23 The Best of the Best
Tuesday, August 20: Silly Milly Art
What is a Silly Milly? It is a special type of clay that you slice, create, and then bake. This type of clay is used to make beads, buttons, magnets, ornaments, jewelry, animals, and more. You’ll make your own creation to bake in the oven and take home.
Wednesday, August 21 Zero Gravity Indoor Trampoline Park
Bounce around on the biggest trampoline you’ve ever seen! Zero Gravity has trampolines from floor to ceiling. No spot is left uncovered in this 3D jumping sensation.
Thursday, August 22: Benihana
We love this place at JJ’s Jam! Come and fill up on some amazing food from the hibachi grill.
Week 13: August 26-29 Last Days of Summer
“It’s almost time to head back to school… but not before one more week of summer fun!
Register by the day to fit your busy end of the year schedule!”
Monday August 26: MN State Fair
Join us at the Great Minnesota Get Together! Register early because this day fills up fast! A 1:5 teacher to child ratio at the fair will keep us on the go as we visit the animal barns, education booth, stop at the milk truck, and enjoy a lunch on a stick. No games or rides for us but the day is still all about fun!
Tuesday, August 27: Elsies Bowling
Take a step back in time as we visit this old school bowling alley in NE Minneapolis. Have fun challenging your friends to a game of bowling as you try fun new food from their snack shack.
Wednesday, August 28 French Regional Park
This ropes course will blow your mind! There are hundreds of ways to get from here to there so join your friends in a race from the bottom to the top!
Thursday, August 29 Magic Mirror Face Painting
Learn the magic art of face painting and go home with a great looking face too!
